As a listener, you must ask yourself the following question before you run out and buy the new Judas Priest album, Demolition: What am I expecting out of this album? The answer will make all the difference in the world.

Demolition will disappoint all those who were expecting a return to the old-style Halford-era Judas Priest. It's a good modern Heavy Metal album, but it's moody tone and mid-tempo songs will remind the listeners of old Black Sabbath and Marilyn Manson before it reminds them of "classic" Judas Priest. Gone are the dueling guitars as well as most of the piercing high-pitched vocals in favor of a darker, more "modern" sound. But my main problem with this album is how repetitive it sounds. It lags on like one long song.

Overall, Demolition lacks the fire of previous Judas Priest releases and shows signs of a band whose creativity has dwindled over the years -- nothing a good dosage of "Halford" couldn't fix.
