After a long hiatus, former Great White bassist Tony Montana returns to the land of Rock N' Roll with Tombstone Shuffle - a rather enjoyable collection of rockin' bluesy tunes that do not stray far from his Great White roots.

The Performance: Tombstone Shuffle is definitely Tony Montana's baby as he handles all vocals, guitars, and bass. Overall, Tony's performance is impressive, his vocals sound like a mix of Great White's Jack Russell, Tesla's Jeff Keith, Sebastian Bach, and Mr. Big's Eric Martin. In other words, the man can sing, and his strong and soulful voice is definitely a breath of fresh air. Also impressive is Tony's lead guitar work, we all knew he could play Bass (from examples such as Great White's "Mista Bone"), but his axe work is also killer.

The Songs: The tunes on Tombstone Shuffle are structured and definitely well written. Guitar and Vocal hooks galore on this CD and the songs are definitely catchy. Highlights are the title track, the bluesy "Little Queen" and the grandiose "Prayer" (String Section and all). Also, a pleasant surprise is Tony's laid back version of Thin Lizzy's "Cowboy Song."

The Production: Overall, the production (handled by Tony Montana) is really good as all the instruments are in your face and well defined.

The Bottom Line: Tombstone Shuffle will prove to be enjoyable to just about any rock fan. It's a must have for fans of Great White, Mr. Big, Tesla, and Bluesy Kick-Ass Rock N' Roll. Definitely pick this CD up for it's one of the best releases out there.
