Matthew & Gunnar Nelson are back with their latest album, Life, and it's pretty amazing. While not as heavy or guitar-driven as their previous U.S. release, Imaginator, Life features some of the most melodic, well-written songs of the 90's. Life is a very mature record that really shows how the Nelsons have evolved as musicians, songwriters, and producers. As a result, the Nelsons hit you with an onslaught of hooks, catchy choruses and strong songs, in other words, Melodic Hard Rock Heaven.

Here's the track by track review:
1. A Girl Like That - A very catchy opener, this one has "hit single" written all over it. Great vocal harmonies!
2. I Would If You Want Me To - A melodic, hook-driven, mid-tempo rocker, ear candy for AOR fans.
3. Life - The title track is a melodic, Beatlesque, Rick Nelson composition that never saw the light of day. As a tribute to their legendary father, Matthew & Gunnar recorded their version of it, string section included. Oh, and it sounds very powerful.
4. She Sheila - Probably the "poppiest" song on the record, this one's a tad heavy on the keys, but it still has a catchy chorus that carries the tune.
5. Someone Like You - (MetalGod's Pick) A beautiful piano ballad with beautiful vocals and awesome guitar solos and fills.
6. Everybody Cries Sometimes - Another "hit single", a very cool melodic song, filled with catchy hooks. The awesome vocals make the song.
7. Let's Talk About Me - The hardest rockin' track of the album, this one starts with a great guitar riff and hooks galore. The lyrics are really cool, tongue-in-cheek.
8. She Said She'd Be Mine - Mid-tempo rocker with very cool vocals and a great bridge. Check out the versatility of Matthew and Gunnar's voices as they go from low to high. Very cool. Also, check out the string section.
9. The Hunger - A melodic, catchy, rocker with a smokin' guitar solo.
10. Is That How It Is? - Awesome lyrics on this tune, a great way to close the album. Amazing song and some extremely melodic guitar work.

Once you pick up this album, you'll be singing along, and you'll want to play it over and over again. I know I do.

What can I say? Experience Life, enjoy Life, and live Life, for Life is bliss, Melodic Bliss!
